PrkL8 is for play, not work. We have an iPhone app as well as
simple little browser plug ins for Firefox or IE. With a click of our prkl8
button, you can spin the Web dial and we'll show you something
we think you might like. Let us know what you think with the love and
hate buttons and we'll get better at making suggestions
for you. We call it personalized content discovery.
Now that "personalized" part might have set off warning bells for a few of you.
With all the spyware, adware and generally slimy additions to the web in the last
few years, a little skepticism is healthy. So let's be clear about what
we collect and what we do with it.
We use your email as your login and to let you know about
changes to your account. We keep track of our suggestions for you in the past
so we dont send you the same stuff again and again. We also keep track of
your ratings -- what you loved and what you hated. We use your ratings
to improve our suggestions for you, but we also pool the ratings to get a better
idea of what content works and what doesn't more generally.
We will not share or sell any of your personal data or ratings.
What we are looking for are trends in what people like or dislike, and we
absolutely plan to sell what we find there. But that's it.
